Frequently asked questions
Everything you might want to know about practicing with Taylor in Austin: private groups, corporate events, in-studio classes, and her inclusive approach.
Who is Taylor Cook?
Taylor Cook is an inclusive, beginner-friendly yoga teacher based in Austin, Texas. She is a 200-hour Yoga Alliance–certified teacher who has practiced yoga since 2010 and teaches private group yoga, corporate and event yoga, and all-levels in-studio classes around Austin.
What makes Taylor's yoga teaching different?
Taylor is known for teaching to everybody in the room. Her cueing is permissive and welcoming rather than rigid or focused on achieving the most intense pose. She is trauma-informed and teaches completely hands-off, meaning she never gives physical adjustments or touches students in class. Having overcome two chronic illnesses herself, she teaches that no two bodies are the same, that there is no way anyone should or shouldn't look, and that each person is the best guide of their own body. The goal of every class is to leave with a regulated nervous system and a genuine sense of peace.
Is Taylor's yoga good for complete beginners?
Yes. Taylor keeps her classes as beginner-friendly as possible and offers up-level options for students who want more. You do not need any prior experience, flexibility, or a particular body type to practice with her.
Is your yoga accessible for different body types, abilities, or disabilities?
Absolutely. Taylor creates an inclusive environment where every body is welcome. There is no body type, level of ability, or disability that is not welcome in her classes. She offers modifications and options so each student can tune into their own body and practice in a way that feels right for them.
Do you give hands-on adjustments or touch students in class?
No. Taylor teaches completely hands-off and never gives physical adjustments or touches students in class. Unconsented touch is a real problem in the yoga world, and as a trauma-informed teacher, Taylor guides entirely through clear verbal cues. Your body and your space always stay yours.
Do you offer private group yoga in Austin?
Yes. Taylor offers private group yoga for smaller groups like bachelorettes, birthdays, retreats, and gatherings, bookable through Airbnb. These sessions include mats, props, and music, and she travels to your home, rental, or event space in the Austin area.

For corporate and large events, details like mats and sound equipment vary by venue and are planned together. You can send details through the corporate events page to get a custom plan.
